The Stalactite and the Stalagmites along the way to KAWASAN FALLS

The Rock formations along the way to Kawasan Falls:
Stalactite : a pointed piece of rock that hangs down from the roof of a cave and that is formed by dripping water which contains minerals.
Stalagmites : a pointed piece of rock that sticks up from the floor of a cave and that is formed by dripping water which contains minerals.

Let me give you a hint for these two pointed rock formations. Inorder for you to know if it is the one hanging or it is the one on the ground.
First, check the spelling. Stalactite has letter "C". Stalagmite has letter "G". Just disregard the "m" since its just a simple rule in English which tells you that its easy to say "stalagmite" than "stalagtite."
Now, you see the letter difference of the two words.
"G" is for "Ground" which means, stalagmites were at the ground.
"C" is for "Ceiling" which means, stalactites were on the ceiling.
Hope it would help you tell the position of stalactites and stalagmites.
